Our Story
- We are Magnolia HackHers a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Our story began in Palo Alto as a group of students at Gunn, because of our experiences we decided to launch Magnolia Hacks the first all-girls/non-binary hackathon in Gunn. Since then, we have reached an international audience with 70+ participants, 5K in sponsorship from Wolfram, Echo3D, Thinkfund, and Leangap. We have been honored by Directors and VP from Adobe and other established companies and students from Harvard and Carnegie Mellon.
OUR MISSION
Only 28% of the STEM workforce consists of women. We want to change that.

What We Believe
We strongly believe that every young individual, female or non-binary, should have access to the resources and opportunities necessary to help her succeed in her STEM journey. We hope to vastly reduce the alarming gender gap present in Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology.

How We Help
Hackathons offer a great way to strengthen the community between peers as well as producing a strong network. Furthermore, through this event, participants will be able to exercise both their creative and academic capacities in a fun and safe environment.

What We Envision
We wish to encourage a deep love for all things STEM in young girls and individuals of marginalized genders. By providing an opportunity to explore the experience of a hackathon solely for girls and non-binary identifying individuals, we hope to empower the bright young girls of today to bridge the gender gaps of tomorrow.
